1-2. Frishman, David. Tohu VaVohu (Segula LeDavar Acher). Criticism on Alexander Zederbaum, editor of "HaMelitz" journal and the writers for this paper. Printed and bound with: Al HaNess! ("Ness LaGoyim or Tancred"), by David Frishman. "Tancred" is the English book by Benjamin Disraeli, translated into Hebrew by Yehuda Leib Levin (Yahala"l). In this booklet, Frishman criticizes Part I of the translation. In the introduction to Part II, Yahala"l responses to this criticism. Both booklets were printed by Chaim Kelter Printing Press, Warsaw, 1883. 60; 28 pp, 14 cm. Good condition. Ink stamps, minor moth damages.

1. Hapoel HaTza'ir / Hapoel HaTza'ir Publishing, journal of the "Hapoel HaTza'ir" party of young workers in Eretz Israel. Published by the "Central Committee", Jaffa, 1918-1919. Issues 1-31 are bound together. (Issues 1-24 were published under the title "Hapoel HaTza'ir Publishing"). The paper was published during the years 1907-1970. Founded by "Hapoel HaTza'ir" party and served as the first literary podium for Eretz Israel workers. Y.H. Brener and Dvora Buaron were the paper's editors. Amongst the writers were most of the Hebrew authors in Israel at the time: Joseph Chaim Brener, Moshe Smilansky, Gershon Shofman, Asher Barash, S.Y. Agnon. S. Ben-Zion, Ya'akov Fichman and others. Volume 29 cm. Good condition. Stains, creases, tears mainly to binding and edges of leaves.

Steinman, Eliezer [ed]. Ketuvim, weekly journal on questions of culture, literature and art, published by Agudat HaSofrim V'Hasifrut Ha'Ivrit B'Eretz Yisrael. Tel Aviv, 1926-1933.
First to seventh year, Issues 1-299. (Issue 14 of the first year is missing). Ketuvim was founded by Chen Bialik and edited by Eliezer Steinman; Later, Avraham Shilansky joined the editing staff. Ketuvim served as the mouthpiece of the Hebrew Authors' Union where they published their works: Asher Brosh, Ya'akov Pichman, Avigdor HaMeiri, Avraham Shalonsky, Esther Raab, Nathan Alterman, Avraham Chalfi and others. After a year, Ketuvim became sharply opposed to the leaders of the Authors' union and the union removed its patronage from the journal and founded Moznayim. After the two editors Steinman and Shalonsky parted ways, the publishing of the journal ceased and Shalonsky began editing Turim. Five volumes 49 cm. Good condition. Damage to several issues.

Biographical details about Gershon Chaim Levner are not known. Nachum Meir Sheikvich (Shemer, 1849-1905) author, was one of the initial playwrights of the Heidi Theater. These booklets helped spread secular Jewish culture in Eastern Europe and they became very popular. Volume 19 cm. Good condition. The two first booklets are detached. Some of the issues are not cut.
