Typewritten composition, by Israel Rogosin. [U.S.A, 1943].
Rogosin (1887-1971) Jewish-American Industrialist and Zionist philanthropist. Rogosin visited Israel many times and donated millions of dollars for the establishment of schools and to educational funds in Israel. Rogosin bequeathed the "Rogosin Enterprises" to the State of Israel.
In this composition from 1943, Rogosin criticizes the conduct of the Jews. According to his views, as a result of many years of business and personal relations he came to the conclusion that Jews tend to cheat, not to respect commitments, bypass official regulations and disregard moral laws and common sense while chasing, according to their definition, an achievement. Rogosin claims that the fact that Jews are a persecuted people, trying to survive, led to the above patterns of thought and conduct, which, in turn, enhance the persecution of Jews. Attached is a copy of a letter by Albert Einstein in response to Rogosin's composition. Einstein agrees with the argument that there is a need to change, through education, some of the traits identified with Jews, and that he hopes that Rogosin's ideas will gain the appropriate attention. 14, 2 leaves. Good condition. Creases and tears at edges of leaves.
