Interesting documents and letters from the archives of Rabbi Meir Karelitz (1877-1955), the oldest and trusted brother of the Chazon Ish. Son in law of Rabbi Shlomo HaCohen of Vilna, author of Cheshek Shlomo, he served as Rabbi of Lachovitz and was a leader of Charedi Jewry in Poland and Eretz Yisrael. One of the founders of Va'ad HaYeshivot in Vilna and in Eretz Yisrael. A member of Mo'etzet Gedolei HaTorah of Agudat Yisrael, a rabbi and spiritual leader of Po'alei Agudat Yisrael. These documents from the initial years of the State of Israel are very interesting and clarify various chapters of history regarding state and religion in those years.
The archive includes: A handwritten letter and copy of a letter by Rabbi Meir to the executive committee of Po'alei Agudat Yisrael, regarding the question of whether the party should enter the Jewish Agency. Letters of rabbis, letters and protocols, of arbitrations between Rabbi Mattityahu Chaim Tzeitlin and his heirs, and the management of the Diskin Orphanage. 1953-1954.
The deliberation was about assets donated by Mr. Tzeitlin to the orphanage carried out in a completed contract. Afterwards, Mr. Tzeitlin changed his mind, and demanded the orphanage to return the assets to his family. Many meetings took place about this issue, and in the meantime, the claimant died and his widow continued the claim. Later, the deliberations passed from the first arbitrators, Mr. Shmuel Eden of Jerusalem and Mr. Shmuel Stern of Tel Aviv to a rabbinical arbitration. These are some of the protocols and letters concerning that deliberation, including letters of testimony, bills of arbitration and authorization.

A letter sent to his relative Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Sakoleski, for coordinating a time for a family visit during Chanuka "if nothing will prevent me I hope to come to you, G-d willing, on this Motzei Shabbat¦ ".
Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler (1892-1954), was educated in the Kelm Yeshiva, and was son in law of Nachum Ze'ev Ziv of Kelm. He came to England in 1927 and served in the rabbinate of Dellstone in London. He was one of the founders of the Gateshead kollel and helped establish Torah institutes in England. In his later years, he served as mashgiach of Ponovezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak. His deep discourses built on the basics of ethics, kabala and chassidut were printed by his disciples in the book Sichot U'Ma'amarim, in the five volumes of Michtav Me'Eliyahu and in Sefer Zikaron Michtav Me'Eliyahu.

A letter of approbation by Rabbi Elazar Menachem-Man Shach. Bnei Brak, 1991. A letter of approbation of a book of explanations on the Gra's commentary to Tractate Avot. Due to Rav Shach's weak state (he was near 95 years old at the time), the letter was typewritten, but at signing, he overcame his weakness and added three handwritten lines extolling the Gra: "The Rav who reveals to us and explains the words of the Gaon of all generations who is like a angel of G-d¦ did a very good thing¦ Blessings of Elazar Menachem Shach".

Letter of thanks for the book Mishnat Ya'abatz by Rabbi Betzalel Zholti. In the letter Rabbi Weinberg refers to the two sections of this book Sridei Esh which were printed during that period.
Rabbi Yechiel Ya'akov Weinberg (1884-1966), genius and known Halachic ruler, among the greatest disciples of the Alter of Slobodka. At a young age served as rabbi in Pilevski (Lithuania). After the demise of his close associate the Ga'on Rabbi Avraham Eliyahu Kaplan, was appointed in his place as head of the Beit Midrash for Rabbis in Berlin. During the Holocaust was expelled to Poland, was in Warsaw Ghetto for a period of time, were he served as president of the Rabbis Association. Was sent to a labor camp and survived the Holocaust. After the War arrived in Montreux in Switzerland, were he headed the Yeshiva until his death. His Chiddushim which were salvaged from the War by one of his disciples were named Sridei Esh.

Rabbi Ovadia Hadaya (1890-1969), was one of the leading rabbis and mekubalim of Jerusalem. He was born in Aleppo (Halab), and immigrated to Jerusalem in 1898. He was Rosh Yeshiva of Porat Yosef in its formative years, a dayan in Jerusalem, Chief Rabbi of Petach Tikva and a member of the Beit Din HaGadol and the Council of the Chief Rabbinate. Founder and Head of Beit El Yeshiva for mekubalim in New Jerusalem, he wrote many books of halacha and aggada: Yaskil Avdi responsa, eight volumes, Deah V'Haskel on kabala, and many other books. His son Rabbi Shalom [Mordechai Chaim] Hadaya, (1926), succeeded his father as head of Beit El Yeshiva.
