Heinrich Sussmann (1904-1986), five original illustrations. Gouache on paper, signed "Sussmann" and dated "47". The images probably describe memories of the Holocaust period.
Sussmann, painter and graphic designer, was born in Tarnopol and moved at a young age with his family to Vienna. Studied art in Paris. Joined the Resistance when the Nazis conquered Paris. Was arrested in 1944 and sent to Auschwitz. Returned to Vienna after the war and continued his artistic endeavours. See enclosed material. 20x12.5cm. Good condition. Some stains.

Moshe Oved, memorial-menorah for the holocaust victims. Bronze casting, signed on the base. Six arms [in memory of the six million] on a base shaped as a Torah scroll, with a large bird covering them with its wings.
Moshe Oved (1885-1958), writer, sculptor and Jewish artist native of Skepe, Poland. Immigrated to London in 1903 and opened a jewelry shop. Started to create sculptures after World War II. The leaflet provides, in addition to other details, information about the bibliophilic edition: 30 copies with an original aquarelle by Szyk, 145 copies on parchment, and more. Three plates with printed paintings by Szyk from the Megilah are attached to the leaflet. [4] pp, [3] plates, 24 cm. Good condition. Several stains and creases.
