Or HaMeir, homiletics on the Torah, megillot and festivals of Chassidic and Kabalistic interpretation by Rebbe Ze'ev Wolf of Zhitomer. Parts 1-3. [Karetz, 1798]. First edition. One of the first Chassidic books including sayings of the Ba'al Shem Tov. The author who died in 1798 was one of the greatest disciples of the Maggid of Mezritch and was a close disciple of Rebbe Ya'akov Yoseph of Polana, Rebbe Nachum of Chernobyl and Rebbe Levi Yitzchak of Berditchov.
Part 1, Bereshit and Shemot: (first 5 leaves missing), 4-58, 61-80, [2] leaves. Part 2, Vayikra and Bamidbar: 52, 55-98, 101-120 leaves. Part 3, Devarim: 64 leaves.
The three parts are bound together, 21 cm. Light green paper. Fair condition, stains and moth holes. Original binding, worn.

Or Ha-Chochma on the Bible. Chassidic and Kabbalistic innovative commentaries. By the Admor Rabbi Uri Feivel the Maggid of Dubienka. (Koretz) [Lashzov, 1815]. First edition. With approbations by Rabbi Meir Kristianpoller, Rabbi Ephraim Zalman Margaliot, the Sear of Lublin and more.
Extra sanctity is attributed to this book, Rabbi Moshe Tzvi Landa of Kisvarda writes in his book “Shulchan Melachim”, on the laws related to the birthing mothers “and it has become customary to place the book, wrapped in a sheet beneath the head of the birthing mother as she experiences the contractions – and it is customary to place the holy book Noam Elimelech and the holy book Or Ha-Chochma”. [His words are quoted in the Poskim’s books]. It is also reported that the Gaon Rabbi Yeshaya Zilberstein of Vac, “was used to sending the “Or Ha-Chochma” to laboring mothers, so it could be placed beneath their cushion as a Segulah for an easy birth”. This book was printed in Lashzov, but because of the “censorship” the place of print has been switched to “Koretz” on some of its copies, the date of print and approbations have been modified to 1795.

Rabbi Avraham David Wahrman (1771 -1841) was rabbi of Joslowitz and Buchach. Among the prominent Poskim and Hassidic leaders. Disciple of Rabbi Meshulam Igra and the Maggid of Nadvorna. He was a beloved friend of the author of "Sidduro shel Shabbat", and disciple of Rabbi Levi Yitzhak of Berdichev in matters of Hassidut and Kabbalah.
The year appearing on the title page is 1800 while the Hebrew year states the book was printed in 1805, [the book was probably printed in Lvov in 1845, and the two other dates were forged for censorship reasons – see Avraham Ya’ari, Kiryat Sefer 17, page 107, No. 43).
Rare.

Ornamented with the approbations of leading Chassidic Rebbes and rabbis of the printing period, who testify to the holiness of the book and the fact that having a copy in the home serves as protection for the family members. Rabbi Avraham Ya’akov of Sadigura wrote: “This holy book contains many holy names and names of angels who are capable of curing, protecting and endowing much success and blessing”.
