Handwritten letter to Hovevey Zion committee in Jaffa. Rehovot, 1883.
Letter of response to the committee's question, when will the Moshava people settle their debt. The need to construct a wine-cellar is raised: "the cellar is the base for our hopes for the future…when we have a cellar we shall be able to repay our debt…". In the letter are mentioned "Menucha VeNachala" society that has been established by a group of Hovevey Zion as well as the grapevines growing in the Moshavah. Letter signed by a dozen of Rehovot's settlers. Leaf 27 cm written on both sides. Fair condition. Tears and stains.

Contents of document: members agree to establish a Chevra Kadisha and a "Linat Zedek" society and agree to join it, similar to the societies established by their neighbors in Yessod HaMa'ala. Signed by: Gelbgisser, Teitelbaum, Engelberg, Grossman, Warhaftig, Schwartz and others. Leaf 22.5X22.5 cm. Fair condition. Stains, tears to borders.

"Certificate" – document certifying that Mr. Zvi Yehudah son of Mordechai Solonovitz paid his share for lands in Hadera. Vilna, [1894].
The document states in detail the lots: lot number 29 in the planting lands... and lot number 29 in the almonds land. 32 signatures of the Vilna association members appear on the bottom, the Hadera associates followed by the list of "Egyptians" – plots of land on the four sides of Solonovitz's lots, with names of owners. [2] leaves, 28 cm. First leaf in good condition – many stains with a few tears, second leaf in fair condition –stains and tears.

Letter addressed to "Respectful Members" (Members of Central Committee). [Early 1920's]. "The 'Zichronim' [people of Zichron Ya'akov] owners of Burj farm decided to establish a Moshavah in this farm, in order to settle their sons there… some of them are members of our union and have no means, we enquire whether the union could assist them". Burj farm was purchased to enable the enlargement of Zichron Ya'akov, and let farmers settle there. Later this settlement was named "Tel Binyamin" and as of 1923 – Binyamina. Amongst the signatories: secretary Asher Shatzman, member of "HaGide'onim" organization. Leaf 27 cm. Good condition. Torn filing holes. Few stains. Folding marks.

Two printed letters (printed with no title page), handed to Moshe Montefiore upon his departure from London about the Damascus Libel, and were probably printed in Constantinople during his stay there. Following the two letters appears a certificate of the London Rabbinical Court. 4 pages, 22.5 cm. Good condition. Few stains and folding marks. From the collection of Prof. Shimon Abramsky.
