Bound together with the book Tvu’ot Ha’aretz (which is the second section of Divrei Yosef) and with the books Totzot Ha’aretz and Ma’aseh Ha’aretz. Scientific and Halachic enquiry of the land of Israel. Jerusalem, 1845.
[8], 70, [6] leaves; [2] 156, [3] leaves; 52 leaves (five title pages). 15 cm. Very good condition. Cardboard binding with leather spine. Ex-Libris of David Yellin. Ancient owner signatures in Sephardic and Ashkenazi handwriting. (The young Shlomo Chazan, “Rabbi Shabtai Shimshon HaLevi from Brisk Lithuania”, “to the master Refael Aharon HaLevi”).

The Kabbalist rabbi and researcher, Rabbi Yehosef Schwartz , was born in Germany in 1805, immigrated to Jerusalem in 1833, and passed away in 1865. Until this very day his books are fundamental for discussions in matters of the Holy Land, both in the Halachic and scientific-historical realms.

A description of Rabbi Yosef Sofer’s journeys in the Land of Israel, his life there, the holy sites and the earthquake which shook Safed and Galilee in 1762.
Rabbi Yosef Sofer emigrated to Eretz Israel in 1760 and passed away in Peki'in. His book is one of the historical references for the study of the Land of Israel through the 18th century and was printed in several editions, some of which are scientific.
