On title page signed self-dedication in ancient handwriting.
The Gaon Rabbi Noach Chaim Zvi Berlin (1734-1802), known as one of the greatest scholars of his time, was a Dayan in Fürth and the Av Beit Din of Metz and Hamburg. His known works include Ma'ayan HaChochmah, Atzei Almugim and Atzei Arazim. [Wrote an additional book titled Atzei Besamim on Even HaEzer which he did not merit to print, see Kedem Catalogue number 6, item 399].

Rabbi Yosef Zamiro, a Dayan and supporter in Jerusalem (passed away in the year 1843), was sent as an emissary of Eretz Israel to Tunis and Livorno, where he printed his Chidushim together with the responsa of Rabbi David Ben Zimra. He is referred to as Rabbbi Hon Yosef in merit of these books.

In the Bibliography Institute CD, record no. 0132632, the year 1828 is listed, however, the approbation of the Livorno rabbis is from the year 1830

The author’s introduction includes a rebuke and polemic against the Hassidism movement and their flocking to Admorim. [In the Bibliography Institute CD it is mentioned that this introduction was torn off from the majority of the forms… - in this copy a printed note (erased) pasted to the page of the introduction is included, which is apparently a clarification or a response to that which was written in the introduction].
