Upon the title page of the book a handwritten inscription, signed by the author, to Rabbi Moshe Chaskin, as well as a stamp of Rabbi Chaskin.
Throughout the book a number of erudite glosses appear upon the margins of the pages in the handwriting of Rabbi Moshe Chaskin.
The author: the Ga’on Rabbi Avraham Ya'akov Maimark (1878-1962, Ozar Ha’Rabbanim 1196), was a great rabbi in Torah, served as rabbi in Paran, Lithuania and later served as a member of the rabbinate of Jaffo – Tel-Aviv.
Recipient of the book and writer of the glosses: the Ga’on Rabbi Moshe Chaskin (1872-1950, Ozar Ha’Rabbanim 14708), was among the disciples and close associates of the Ga’on Rabbi Yitzchak Elchanan Spector [was introduced to him by his admirer the “Chafetz Chaim” – see attached material], served app. 15 years as rabbi of Karkinoba as director of the Mechina [preparatory program] yeshiva for the Slabodka Yeshiva. During the war years he served as rabbi of Priloki. He immigrated to Israel in the year 1933.
