Archive of Rabbi Yossef Tuvia Abramovitch, author of Yad Yossef on slaughter laws.
Rabbi Yossef Tuvia Abramovitch, an outstanding sage. Born in Kelm (Lithuania). Came to England and served for 22 years as Shochet in Manchester. Wrote his important book about laws of slaughter and inedibility of lungs. The book was printed in Poltava in 1913, but due to World War I events only three copies remained in the author's hands (as told in the introduction). In 1928 Rabbi Yossef Tuvia came to Jerusalem where his book was reprinted.
1. Printing agreement (2000 copies) with the printer of Poltova, Rabbi Eliyahu Akiva Rabinovitch. Handwritten and signed by Rabbi Yossef Tuvia, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Farber and Rabbi Eliyahu Akiva Rabinovitch. 1913.
2. Handwritten leaves ready for printing, including sections of writer's introduction. Copies of approbations by Rabbi Yisrael Chaim Daiches of Lodz, Rabbi Yisrael Ya'akov Yaffe. Original handwritten approbations signed by Rabbi Shmuel Michal Rabinovitch (author of Toldot Shas) and Rabbi Menachem Dover Dagotzky of Manchester.

Notebooks of discourses, ideas and stories, registered by Rabbi Chaim Zaitchik in his handwriting. 1965-1969.
Discourses in different Yeshivot and "Batey Mussar" around the country. Some matters were only outlined but done so clearly enough as to enable the reader to comprehend the ideas.
Rabbi Chaim Ephraim Zaitchik (1905-1989), is of the greatest Mussar Movement rabbis in our generation. Disciple of Novardok Yeshivot, founded the Novardok Yeshivah in Buchach (Galicia). Was in Siberia during World War II and afterwards emigrated to the United States, where he started printing Mussar books. In 1960 he made aliya to Israel where he served as spiritual head of Yeshivat Tife'eret Ha'Carmel in Haifa and held Mussar talks all over the country. He later moved to Jerusalem, where he established "Or Chadash" yeshivah and continued teaching Torah and Mussar. Wrote tens of books.
Study of the notebooks presents the rich and unique spiritual world of Rabbi Chaim Zaitchik, who bases his ideas on the Novardok school on one hand and on Chassidut and Maharal books on the other hand.

The notebooks contain the writer's manuscript of "Mitzvat Ha-Bitachon".
Rabbi Shmuel Huminer (1914-1977), an exceptional student of Yeshivat "Etz Ha-Chaim". Some named him the "Chafetz Chaim" of Jerusalem. Notebook regarding bills and testimony. In-depth summation of the Sugiot. [Jerusalem? 1940].
Explanation of the Sugiot and their source in the Gmara, in the Rishonim and in the books of the Poskim. Written by a diligent Torah scholar who discusses all the details of the Sugia in an exceptionally organized fashion. “Regarding a bill which is possibly forged and its restrictions, signature witnesses and delivery witnesses, bills of ownership and bills of proof”.
The date and the notebook number are noted upon the title page.
Notebook [57] pages, clear and legible handwriting, 21 cm. Good condition. Stains. Cover and first page detached.

Halachic polemic response against the rabbi “a new Posek whose opinion is not in accordance with Halacha” who permitted to salt meat with sugar. The writer uses many decisive and sharp expressions.
Title page, 22 crowded written pages. 27.5 cm. Dry paper, fair condition, minor defects in margins and in the fold of the leaf. Fine writing in the handwriting typical of the Galicia-Russia area.

32 items (manuscripts: pamphlets, lists, bibliographies, copies, etc.) of the history of the Landau family from Europe (Optow, Zolkova, Krakow, Brody and other cities). End of the 19th century until the 1930's.
The identity of the writer is unknown, however, it is apparent that he diligently researched the family and he presents epitaphs [some of which are old copies], quotes from notepads of congregations and lists of cemeteries as well as citations from many books.
Among the rabbis mentioned in the writings: Rabbi Yitzchak Landau Av Beit Din of Krakow, Rabbi Yitzchak Charif from the Landau family, Rabbi Moshe Landau who was a member of the Beit Din of Rabbi Moshe Iserlish, Rabbi Moshe Landau Segal, Rabbi Yitzchak Segal Landau as well as additional rabbis. A number of references to the Margaliot family members are included as well.

Three handwritten notebooks by "The Organization for the Weak and Ill and Support for the Modest Poor in Jerusalem". 1917-1918.
1. A notebook of receipts with amounts, names and signatures of people supported by the organization.
2. A notebook recording contributions divided according to Jerusalem's neighborhoods and sometimes according to names of people. Written is a list of a variety of names of residents that participated in the activities and were listed as members of the organization, amounts of contributions, dates and receipt numbers.
3. A notebook by order of the Aleph Bet of Jerusalem residents that were listed as members of the organization with the dates that they joined.
These notebooks have valuable information of Jerusalem residents in the 1920's.
