Thirteen engravings and woodcuts: six maps of Palestine and its surroundings and seven illustrations of biblical themes and figures. Various places of printing, the 15th century to the 18th century.
* Six maps. Including: map of the Mediterranean basin and a map of Palestine from the book "Cosmography" by Sebastian Munster; a map of Palestine and its surroundings from the book Biblischer Geographus by Johann Jacob Schmidt; a map of Jerusalem from the book Jerusalem by Adam Reissner; and more.
* Seven illustrations. Including: two leaves with woodcuts from Nuremberg Chronicle by Hartmann Schedel (on one of them, an illustration of Joseph and Pharaoh in Egypt); two woodcuts by Jost Amman (signed in the plate); and more.
Enclosed: a map of Germany and a map of the Caucasus.
Size and condition vary. Good-fair overall condition. Stains, creases, tears and open tears (some of them restored). Some of the prints are mounted on thick paper.
