Collection of Certificates and Documents from the Time of the War of Independence – Haifa, 1948 – Invitations to Ceremonies Honoring the Establishment of the State of Israel, and More

Twenty seven documents and certificates that had belonged to Nachum Ratzkovsky – a member of the "Acquisitions Committee" and the "Emergency Committee" of Haifa, and to his son Hananya Ratzkovsky – an adjutant of the Quartermaster's department of the northern region during the War of Independence. Haifa, 1948-1949 (most of them are from 1948).
Among the items: * An invitation and programme to a festive meeting for "the declaration of the Hebrew State – 'Israel'" (Hebrew), issued by "The Committee of the Hebrew Community of Haifa" (20.5.1948). * A personal invitation issued by the commander of Haifa to a "Ceremony of raising the flags of the State and the navy above the port". * Printed letter issued by David Ben-Gurion to the "Emergency Committee" of Haifa, ordering to appoint a special representative who will be in personal contact with him. Signed in print. * Confirmation issued by "The Committee for Recruiting the Transportation Market" to own Ford no. 2100 in the line of duty. * Two "Transportation Licenses" for the Arab zone of Haifa, one in the name of Nachum and the second in the name of Hananya. * A time card, call up certificate for "National Service", discharge certificate and identity card in the name of Hananya. * And more.
Some of the items bear stamps of the various bodies.
Size and condition vary. Good-fair overall condition. Stains, creases and fold lines. Filing holes, tears and open tears to some of the items.?See items 111 amd 112.
