Collection of Broadsides and Leaflets from the Time of the British Mandate for Palestine – Denouncing the British and the Irgun
Seven broadsides and leaflets from the time of the British Mandate, most of them issued by the Haganah and the leadership of the Yishuv, denouncing the British policy (one broadside denounces the Irgun). Palestine, ca. 1939-1948.
Among them: * Broadsides about the arrest of "43 prisoners of the Haganah" – 43 members of the Haganah who were arrested and imprisoned by the British authorities, 1939. * A humorous illustrated broadside, against the Irgun, 1939. * Leaflet about the "White Paper". * A broadside about a student of the Technion who was sentenced to imprisonment during a "Weapon Trial". * A small broadside about the illegal immigrants of SS Darien who were imprisoned in the Atlit camp, 1942.
Size and condition vary. Some have many creases or fold lines.
