Share Certificate of the Hebron Development Bank – Jerusalem, 1927

Share certificate for the amount of one Egyptian Lirah of the Hebron Development Bank. Monsohn press, Jerusalem. English, German and French. With handwritten details filled-in from November 30, 1927.
A printed share certificate, with details filled-in by hand, in Hebrew and English, signed by the founder of the bank, Yisrael Zissel Dvortz, and the secretary of the bank S. Klonsky.
Pen writing on verso, signed and dated (1930s).
The Hebron Development Bank was established in Jerusalem in 1925 by Rabbi Yisrael Zissel Dvortz (1885-1968) in order to assist the "Knesset Yisrael" Yeshiva in Hebron. In addition, the bank assisted the colony of Bnei Berak in its first years and the settlement Migdal Eder in Gush Etzion. Subsequent to the 1929 Palestine Riots, the bank changed its name to "Hebron Bank".
