A book with 200 reproductions of photographs that were taken by Ernest and Frédéric Thévoz during their journey in Palestine in 1887. The reproductions are accompanied by text composed by the Swiss pastor and writer Philippe Bridel.
The book is divided into four parts bound in two volumes. Part I: "De Jaffa à Jérusalem" [from Jaffa to Jerusalem]; Part II: "De Jérusalem à Hébron" [from Jerusalem to Hebron]; Part III: "Samarie et Côte maritime" [Samaria and the coastal plain]; Part IV: "Galilée et Liban" [Galilee and Lebanon].
Volume I: [106] pp + [50] plates; [104] pp + [50] plates. Volume II: [104] pp + [50] plates; [108] pp + [50] plates. 25X34 cm. Good condition. Some stains. Small tears at margins of a number of leaves. Restored bindings, with stains and blemishes, slightly loose.
