Haim Nachman Bialik – Handwritten Letter Concerning a "Jubilee Festival" Honoring David Frishman, Odessa, 1914

Haim Nachman Bialik, a handwritten letter (Hebrew) to the "organizers of the Jubilee festival for David Frishman in Warsaw". Written on official stationery. Odessa, February 1914.
In his letter Bialik refers to an event planned to be held in Warsaw in honor of David Frishman's birthday, and he informs the organizers that he cannot assist them.
"… Despite wishing to be helpful from here, I cannot do anything for Frishman if Ussishkin and Klausner are not with me. All my efforts to arouse any movement toward the Frishman jubilee were in vain… I inform you in advance that there is no hope in Odessa…The local population is crass and has no regard for literature or other noble matters".
Leaf, 21 cm (folded into two). Good condition. Central folding mark and creases.
