Non-Traditional Haggadah – Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, Core Group Shaham, 1962

Non-Traditional Haggadah, [Shaham core group in Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, 1962].
Passages from the traditional text alongside poetry and prose passages about the hardships which the people of Israel went through, when the State of Israel was established and during its settlement. At the end appear humorous passages about life in the kibbutz and the declaration: "This year some of us are in Kerem – next year in Gal-On!". Alongside the printed text appear, in pencil, names of the members who are reading the Haggadah and other instructions. The Haggadah, nicely illustrated (some illustrations signed in the plate "ש" and some "א"), was typewritten, mimeographed on leaves in different colors and bound with a red ribbon. The wrapper of the Haggadah is decorated by hand in ink and gouache.
Kibbutz Kerem Shalom was established in 1956 as a Nahal settlement named "Kerem Avshalom" (after Avshalom Feinberg) and from 1957 until 1968, when it became a civil settlement, it was occupied by "HaKibutz HaArtzi" core groups.
