Withdrawn. Collection of Certificates and Entry Passes – Independence War, 1948

Withdrawn. Three certificates and two entry passes issued during the Israeli War of Independence to the military prosecutor Arnold Spaer, assistant to the Governor of Jerusalem Dov Yosef. Jerusalem and Haifa, 1948.
1. Certificate of presence on behalf of "Enlistment for service center, Jewish Agency, Jewish National Council". Stamped on the back with the stamp of "Jerusalem Disctrict" of the "Haganah" and an ink stamp of the "Legal department, general prosecution".
2. Temporary service certificate issued on behalf of the "IDF Government, Jerusalem district headquarters" on 14.7.1948. Stamped on the bottom with the stamp of "Jerusalem District".
3. Certificate on behalf of "IDF Rule in Jerusalem, office of the Military Governor", issued on 2.8.1948. Spaer's photograph appears on the inner side. Stamped "IDF Rule in Jerusalem, Military Governor office".
4. Entry pass to the port, issued by "Navy Force, Haifa Base" on 9.10.1948. Stamped by "Navy headquarters, Haifa base". On the back appears a handwritten comment: "Do not delay".
5. Entry Pass to Haifa port, given on 7.10.1948. Hand-signed by the port director.
Enclosed: Appendix No. 1 to General Staff Order No. 24 dated 8.11.48, ranks, appointments etc (officers). A booklet with names of soldiers who were promoted to higher ranks. On the last page, under the title Acting Ranks, appears Spaer's name.
Size and condition vary. Good overall condition. Slight creases and stains. Handwritten inscriptions on some items.
