Promissory Note for Construction of a Dormitory in the "Reali School" in Haifa, 1925 - Illustrated by Hermann Struck

"Letter of obligation", a promissory note in lithographic printing, on behalf of "Pnimiya Haifa Ltd." Company. [Haifa]. 1925.
Note no. 32 in which the company, which was founded to finance the construction of a dormitory for the Reali School in Haifa, is obligated to return over ten years an amount of 10 Pounds Sterling to Dr. Joseph Kelner.
Founders of the company, whose names appear on the note were Dr. Eliyahu Auerbach, Dr. Arthur Biram (founder of the Reali School), Siegfried Hoofien, Hannah Tomashevsky, Dr. Yehuda Leib Magness, Shmuel Pevsner and Dr. Theodor Zlocisti.
Illustration by Hermann Struck appears on top of the note (lithograph in black and white) showing the planned building on the background of the Reali School. The note is signed by Dr. Eliyahu Auerbach and Shmuel Pevsner.
The construction of the building (on Shmaryahu Levin Street in Haifa) started in 1924 and it served the students until World War II.
Enclosed is a typewritten letter, addressed to Dr. Joseph Kelner, repeating in German the obligation detailed in the promissory note.
30X25 cm. Enclosed letter: 29.5X22.5 cm. Good condition. Some tears, creases and folding marks. Tax stamps and pen inscription on the reverse of the note.
