Letter by Rabbi Avraham Yisachar Englard to, Rabbi Yossef Goldstein. New York, 1954.
Lengthy letter concerning the Radzin Hassidim who settled in the State of Israel after the Holocaust, as well as a plea to support their emissary who is departing to America for the purpose of collecting funds for their benefit.
“You are certainly aware of the fact that for the past two years I was in our Holy Land, thank G-D I have married a fine woman, the daughter of a fine family from Poland… and now, thank G-D I am able to inform that while I was in Israel all the Radzin Hassidim got together… we reestablished the Sod Yesharim Yeshiva of Radzin in the Holy City of Jerusalem…”.
The Admor Rabbi Avraham Yisachar Englard (1910-2006), Av Beit Din of Sosnowitz and son-in-law of the Admor Rabbi Mordechai Yossef Elazer from Radzin. He was the administrator of the Radzin yeshiva network in Poland and assisted his brother-in-law, the Admor Rabbi Shmuel Shlomo Leiner, with the leadership of the Hassidism. His entire family as well as all of his father-in-law’s family were killed in the Holo-caust while he miraculously survived, emigrated to the USA, and in the year 1954 was crowned as the Admor of Radzin and immigrated to the Holy Land. He was blessed with longevity and until a very old age spread and taught Torah and Hassidism in the city of Bnei Brak.
