Ornamented Shell Case - Rachel's Tomb
Ornamented shell case, in "Bezalel" style. [Jerusalem, ca. 1917].
Brass, etching.
Front: depiction of Rachel's Tomb. Reverse: Star of David surround by ornamentation, signed in monogram: "H"I". Two bands of ornamentations on top and on bottom. One of them features clusters of grapes and pomegranates.
Height: 27.5 cm. Dark patina. Breaks to base and upper rim. Corrosion.
