Letter of smicha by Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer

Letter of ordination for rabbinate, to Peretz Gettner, from the Gaon Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer. Tamuz 1940.
The recipient of the ordination, the Gaon Rabbi Peretz Ariel (1914-1992), served as Rabbi of Magdiel for many years. Amongst other things he wrote "that he excels in qualities and character traits that our Rabbis extolled in the Mishna and he will become a well from which those who are thirsty for the words of Hashem will drink".
Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer (1870-1954), author of "Even Ha'ezel", disciple of Rabbi Chaim of Brisk in the Yeshiva of Volozhin, was the Av Beit Din and Rosh Yeshiva of Slutsk. He moved to Jerusalem in 1924 and was appointed head teacher in the "Etz Chaim" Yeshiva. Of the heads of "Moetzet Gedolei HaTorah".
