Emissary Note – The Beit El Yeshiva

“Ma Nora Hamakom Hazeh”- printed Emissary Note bearing the original handwritten signatures of the heads of Yeshivat Hamekubalim Beit El. Jerusalem, [c.1890].
Printed in blue and gold for Rabbi Shimon Ashriki’s fundraising mission in Tangiers. This is apparently a unique (handcrafted) print which was custom made for each city visited by the fundraiser.
With the handwritten signatures of: Rabbi Avraham Chaim Pinaso, Rabbi Masud Hakohen El Hadad, Rabbi Shalem Malka, Rabbi Makhluf Sharvit and Rabbi Nissim Eini. (See enclosed material for more information about them).
Rabbi Avraham Chaim Pinaso was one of the greatest Beit El scholars and one of the most prominent Jerusalem rabbis of his time. He passed away at a very old age in 1896. Rabbi Masud Hakohen El Hadad (1810-1927) is the author of “Koach Ma’asav” and “Simchat Kohen”, he directed the Beit El Yeshiva for many years. Rabbi Shalem Malka, author of “Vezarach Hashemesh” passed away in 1896. Rabbi Makhluf Sharvit was among the occidental Jerusalem scholars. Rabbi Nissim Eini who was one of the Mekubalim of Beit El was also Rabbi Elyahu Mani’s close friend since youth. He was born in Baghdad and moved to Jerusalem in 1857. Published several Kabalah related books and passed away in 1900.
