Map of Aldgate Ward with Indication of Synagogues – London, 1756

Aldgate Ward with its Divisions into Precincts & Parishes according to a New Survey.

Two synagogues appear on the map: Bevis Marks Synagogue, the oldest synagogue in Britain, and Hambro's Synagogue. On both sides of the map appear illustrations of two Aldgate churches: St. James Duke's Place and St. Katherine Coleman.
A dedication is printed on the bottom, to a council member of Aldgate, Robert Scott: "This Plan is most humbly inscribed to Robert Scott Esq. Alderman of Aldersgate Ward".
24X37 cm. Good condition. Stains. Slight tears. Adhesive tape to two left corners.
