Commemorating European Congregation that Perished in the Holocaust – Collection of Documents – 1944 and onwards

Collection of about 140 documents, photographs and printed items concerning commemoration of European congregations. Hebrew, some Yiddish and some European languages.
The collection includes a letter from Haifa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, dated September 1944, about donations for refugees from Poland who are in the Soviet Union, invitations and programs to memorial ceremonies on behalf of Jews from different congregations, photographs of memorial plaques, a donation postcard for Forest of the Martyrs, Forest of the Martyrs map, commemoration booklets, "Yizkor" leaves issued by Yad Vashem, 'Yorzeit Certificate' on behalf of the home for the elderly in Jerusalem, lists of addresses of Jews from different congregations and information leaves. Many communities are mentioned, including Vitebsk, Chelm, Brody, Kovel, Mlyniv- Murawica, Sanok, Rovno, Nemyriv, Nowy Sącz, Gur, Khust, Berezhnytsia and Ungvar.
