The manuscript of the novella "Eine palaestinensische Novelle", by Dr. Josef Kastein (published in 1942). Dated on the last leaf: 6.III.1940, and on a leaf added at the beginning 17.7.41.
Kastein (1890-1946), a Zionist author and historian, lived and acted in Germany. Immigrated to Eretz Israel in 1934 due to Nazi persecutions.
[1], 97 leaves (pagination somewhat out of order), most of which are written by hand and some typewritten, 28 cm. Inserted in a cardboard folder. Fair-good condition. Stains, foxing, small stains and tears at margins of leaves. Worn and damaged folder with open tears at corners and spine.
