Sketches for Hebrew University Logo - Ze'ev Raban

Three sketches, proposals for a logo of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, created by Ze'ev Raban. [Jerusalem, late 1920s or early 1930s].
Ink on paper. All three sketches are stamped with the ink stamp "Ze'ev Raban, workshop for industrial art (formerly Gur-Arie and Raban), Bezalel Yerushalem".(Hebrew).
1-2. Two versions of a sketch depicting a boy kneeling to drink water from a spring flowing into a low pool. The motto "Emet Kne" appears on top of the emblem and on the bottom or around appears the inscription "The Hebrew University of Jerusalem". On lower right corner of the leaf appears a small fish.
18.5X17.5 cm, 19.5X18 cm. Good condition. Correction-fluid corrections, traces of pencil, some tears. Some stains. Wear. Attached to Passé par tout with two pieces of adhesive tape on upper corners.
3. Round sketch divided in the middle to a black and white zone; on the black zone appear a seven branched Menorah and the word "Emet" (truth) and on the white zone appear a hammer and the word "Kne". The circle appears within a larger circle, and on the ring in between appears the caption "The Hebrew University of Jerusalem". On the right upper corner of the leaf appears the digit 3 and on the upper left corner: "Gal-Ed".
20.5X18 cm. Good condition. Some stains. The sketch consists of several parts pasted one on top of the other. Matted.
