Album of Photographs - British Soldier - Beersheba, the Negev and Egypt
Photo album which belonged to a British soldier who served in Palestine and the surroundings. [ca. 1930s].
The album contains 56 photographs portraying views and sites in Palestine and in particular in the Negev (as well as ten photographs from Egypt). Among the photographs: mosque in Beersheba, cemetery for casualties of World War I in Beersheba, Bedouins in the Negev, Bir 'Asluj, loading camels in Gaza, Aqaba port, ship on the Nile, Alexandria, the shore of Tel-Aviv, Haifa port, Arab market in Jerusalem, Nablus Gate, Mosque of Omar, Church of Annunciation, Bethlehem and more. Numerous photographs are titled (in English) on the leaf to which they are attached. Some photographs are also titled on verso.
Photographs: approx. 6.5X5 cm to 10.5X6.5 cm. Album: 28.5X19.5 cm. Good overall condition. Lacking photographs.
