Portrait of R. Chaim Halberstam, author of Divrei Chaim, of Sanz. [Probably Europe, first half of the 20th century].
Oil on canvas. Signed and dated (unidentified artist, undeciphered date).
Apparently, the portrait was painted after the famous portrait of Rebbe Chaim Halberstam by the painter Lazar Krestin, in which the rebbe is seen reading a book. R. Chaim Halberstam of Sanz (1797-1876), author of Divrei Chaim and founder of the Sanz dynasty.
