Tin Passover Plate - Hungary, 18th Century
Passover plate. [Budapest, Hungary, ca. late 18th century].
Cast and engraved tin. Marked on reverse: SW Fein Zinn, with maker's mark, apparently Sebastian Jurame (active 1773-1791).
Engraved on the rim are the Seder simanim. Engraved between the first and last simanim are two branches with the Hebrew initials "nun-bet-gimel" (?). Engraved on the reverse is the inscription "Siman of the Passover Seder" (Hebrew).
Diameter: 32.5 cm. Slightly damaged.
