Ceramic Passover Plate - Alsace, 19th Century
Passover plate. [Alsace, late 19th century].
Painted and glazed clay; marked on reverse.
At the center of the plate is a scene depicting the Exodus from Egypt. On the margins is the inscription "Passover, Matzah and Maror" (Hebrew). Decorated with ivy leaves and branches. Reproductions of this plate were produced by the Israel Museum in Jerusalem and are sold in the museum store.
Diameter: 37.5 cm. Good condition. Slight defects to bottom.
