House-Shaped Spice Container - Austro-Hungarian Empire, 19th Century

Spice container. Austro-Hungarian Empire, late 19th century.
Silver (marked on the bottom); filigree.
Spice container in the shape of a tall house with balconies, stairways, an inclined roof and a turret with a flag. Unique design, possibly a private commission. The base consists of three square frames leaning on each other with spiraling silver threads. The upper part of the spice container is shaped as a two-storied house, with two staircases (on the front and on the side), two balconies (an upper and lower one), an attic, an inclined tile-like roof, and a small turret topped by a flagpole flying a flag. The house's back wall and floor are decorated with a large flower. The roof is removable, with the first and second stories used to store the spices.
Height: 24 cm. Good condition. Slight defects.
