Large Collection of Printed Leaves and Proofreading Leaves Removed from a "Bindings' Geniza" - Edition of the Babylonian Talmud from Constantinople and Other Compositions

Large collection of leaves and leaf-fragments removed from a "bindings' geniza". Including leaves from editions of the Babylonian Talmud (some are sections of the 1802 Constantinople edition, printed by Chaim Eliyahu Pardo). Many leaves are proofreading leaves and printing trials from Constantinople from the 18th and early 19th centuries. The handwritten corrections and glosses which appear on some of these leaves were later integrated into the final printing [see enclosed leaves for comparison]. Not all of the compositions have been identified.
37 leaves. Varied size and damages caused by the binding process. Stains and damages, tears affecting text and worming.
