Four Issues of Newspapers in Arabic - Jaffa, 1909-1914
Four issues of newspapers in Arabic, printed in Jaffa.
1. Issue of the paper النفير (el-Nafir). Jaffa, 1909. Editor: Elie K. Zacca. Second year, issue no. 354. Contains items about politics, commerce, art, and more.
2. Issue of the paper "Saut el Othmaniya" (voice of the Ottomans). Jaffa, 1914. Editor: Dr. Shimon Moyal. First year, issue no. 77. Contains a notice about enlistment to the war and news from the front. This newspaper was the first Jewish newspaper in Jaffa and in Tel-Aviv, that was published in Arabic. The editor, Dr. Moyal, was a physician, translator and journalist of the old Yishuv.
3. Issue of the paper الاخبار (El-Achbar = "News"). Jaffa, 1914. The editor: Kamal Rashid al-Haj. Fifth year, issue no. 578.
4. Issue of the paper فلسطين (Palestine). Jaffa, 1912. Editor: Daoud El-Issa. Second year, issue 104-105. Contains news about immigration to the United States and the war between Turkey and Italy in Libya.
Size and condition vary. [4] pp in each issue. Overall fair-good condition. Folded issues. Stains and tears to some of the issues.
