Certificate and Medal - Betar Movement in Harbin, 1943

Certificate and medal from the Betar youth movement, granted for winning second place in a running competition. Harbin, China, 1943.
1. Printed certificate, with details filled in by hand. Russian (with the Hebrew inscription "Brit Ha'Noar Ha'Ivri al shem Yosef Trumpeldor" - "The Joseph Trumpeldor Jewish Youth Association"). Stamped with the stamp of the Betar Movement in Harbin and signed by the representatives of the movement's sports committee. Leaf 28 cm. Good condition. Stains and creases.
2. Medal, with suspension loop, 1943. On the front is the symbol of the Betar Movement - a menorah and the inscription "Betar" in Hebrew and Russian. 3X2.5 cm. Good condition. Stains.
The Jewish community in Harbin, in northeast China, dates back to the early twentieth century. In 1929 a branch of the Betar Movement was founded in the city, and during the World War II period Betar became the city's leading Zionist movement.
