"Maccabi" - Photograph Album - Training Camps and Sports Competitions, 1920s-1930s
Album with about 225 photographs of athletes, training camps and competitions of Jewish sports organizations. Eastern Europe (Baranovichi, Vilnius, Nowojelnia - Belarus) and Palestine, ca. 1926-1934.
The album contains photographs documenting a training and field camp for Jewish trainees (dated by hand, 1926), young trainees with a "Maccabi" flag in the background, soccer championships in Baranovichi (early 1930s), photographs of several athletes on outings with their families, and a number of photographs from Palestine, from the Adloyada in Tel Aviv.
Photographs: 5.5X6.5 cm to 18X13 cm. Album: 32X23 cm. Good-fair overall condition. Stains. Creases and small tears (mostly to first photographs). The album has been restored (new back binding, spine, corners and endpapers).
