Photograph Album - Jerusalem and Palestine
Album with 18 photographs of landscapes and sites in Palestine. [Late 19th- early 20th century].
Most of the photographs are of Jerusalem and its surroundings: Shaare Zedek Hospital, Yesha Aharon Hospital, the Institute for the Blind, the Tower of David, worshippers at the Western Wall, the Tomb of Absalom and more. Additional photographs of Jaffa, Rachel's Tomb, the Cave of Machpelah and more. Most are titled in the negative. Some are constructed from a number of photographs, using the photomontage technique.
Photographs ca. 10X14.5 cm, mounted on album leaves. Album: 16X21 cm. Good condition. Foxing to album leaves (around the photographs). Some of the photographs are slightly faded. Some are stained. Slight defects to binding.
