Hanukkah Lamp - Holland
Hanukkah lamp. [Holland, 18th century].
Brass sheet, repouseé, pierced, folded and punched; cast brass.
Lamp for hanging, with backplate, arched, in the center of which appears a high-relief image of a heart, surrounded by a multi-leaves image. At margin of backplate appear high-relief balls. Shamash soldered to the right side of backplate. Catch basin for dripping oil. Oil fonts are hanging on bumps on the backplate.
Height: 18.5 cm, max. width: 23 cm, depth: 6.5 cm. Fair condition. Breaks to left side of lamp, some bends.
