Lea Grundig - German-born painter with Communist leanings. Was married to the German painter Hans Grundig. They were persecuted for their Communist opinions and deported to concentration camps, but Lea managed to escape Europe and immigrated to Palestine in 1940 on the deck of the illegal immigrant ship "Pacific".
