Satiric Alphabet book by the artist Gustav Wolf. Each letter of the Alphabet stands for a term or a common phenomenon in the German society, shortly before the rise of the Nazis to power, starting with the letter "A" with reference to anti-Semitism, and ending with the letter "Z" - Zionism.
The book is composed of 25 illustrations (woodcuts that illustrate the various terms). Each illustration is accompanied by two rhymed lines. The book was printed in 44 copies only, on high-quality paper. The author, Gustav Wolf (1887-1947), Jewish-German painter and graphic artist. In 1938, following the persecution of Jews in Germany, he immigrated to the United States.
