Drafts of Essays and Drawings from Cyprus Internment Camps

Collection of essay drafts and drawings made in the Cyprus internment camps; some made for the weekly "Al HaSaf", the magazine of the pupils and graduates of the Pinhas Rutenberg JDC Seminary for Guides in Cyprus [ca. 1948-1949].
* Two handwritten drafts of an essay titled "Lean?" ("Where shall We Go?") by Yitzhak Epstein, published in issue 15 of "Al HaSaf", 1948. * Drafts of a handwritten essay ("Comments from our Readers"), by A.M. Vardieli, 1949. The comment "not accepted" appears at the top of one page. * Two drafts of a crossword puzzle (one blank, one with solutions). The comment "not accepted" appears at the top of one page. * "No'ar Al HaSaf" (Youth on the Verge), a study for the design of an essay title (the title was accompanied by illustrations of a youth blowing a trumpet, barbed wire and a map of Palestine) - printed in issue 22-23 of "Al HaSaf". * Twelve drawings (pencil and pen on paper) - some depicting scenes from the Cyprus internment camps; possibly also made for "Al HaSaf" or for one of the other publications printed in Cyprus. Some of the drawings are signed.
Total of 18 items (21 leaves). Size and condition vary. Stains, tears to several pages.
