Rabbi Chaim HeLevi of Brisk, founder of Lithuanian methodology of learning. This book was written over the course of several years and was edited over and over again, "up to one hundred times" [as author's sons write in introduction]. Until this very day, it is considered one of the fundamental works on methods of learning and understanding the Talmud.
