Ze'ev Raban – Three Colorful Illustrations – Biblical Stories

Ze'ev Raban, three original illustrations. Watercolor and pencil on paper. Signed.
1. Illustration for Esther Scroll, chapter 3:2. Inscription on top of the leaf: "Book illustrations" (Hebrew). [1] leaf, 29.5 cm.
2. Illustrations for the Book of Kings, chapter 1 – King David, in his old age, lying in bed; his harp next to him. Two figures go down the steps leading to his room. The illustration apparently depicts the scene when Avishag is taken to King David. To the left of the illustration appears a small decoration. An inscription appears on top of the leaf: "Book Illustrations" (Hebrew). [1] leaf, 17 cm.
3. Illustration for the Book of Kings B, chapter 25. Two figures stand in front (most probably Nebuchadnezzar King of Babylon and one of his soldiers), looking at Jerusalem besieged. On the lower part of the illustration, an inscription " the city was besieged (Kings 2:5)" (Hebrew). Two additional inscriptions are added in pencil: "Tenth of Tevet"; "Book illustrations". [1] leaf, 30 cm.
