Embroidered Tablecloth from Cyprus Internment Camps
Embroidered tablecloth, "Souvenir from Cyprus". Cyprus, [ca. 1947-1949].
Embroidered fabric, nice colors, in simple geometric patterns. In the center appears a rhombus featuring an embroidered inscription: "Lezikaron MiKafrisin" (souvenir from Cyprus), embroidered by a prisoner in the Cyprus internment camps. 45.5X32.5 cm. Good condition. Minor stains and some unravelling at the margins.
