Archive of Postcards Sent to a prisoner in a Labor Camp – Hungary, 1941-1944

186 "official" postcards of the Hungarian army – compulsory labor service and 5 letters. Sent to Erno Erlich in a labor camp, from his original place of residence in the city of Kassa, during the years 1941-1944. Erlich was, probably, a prisoner engaged in compulsory labor for the Hungarians.
Most postcards were sent by his family and some were sent by friends and acquaintances. It seems that it was a big religious family. In some of the letters elections in the Jewish community are mentioned.
Erlich's family writes that other people were sent to similar camps but sometimes have time off the camp. Memorial day for the community rabbi, Purim 1942 and other occasions are also mentioned.
All postcards were poststamped in Kassa and were probably handed to an official office there, that forwarded the postcards to prisoners in the camps.
Slogans are printed on part of the postcards such as "War should rather be in Ukraine than on Hungarian land" and others were stamped by the censor.
Fair-good condition.
