Collection of Photographs – "Kibush" Training Camp – Lithuania, 1920s
Collection of photos from Lithuania and Eretz Israel – training camp, "Tarbut" school pupils, "Achva" group, paving roads, and more [1920s-30s].
1-9. Nine photos of the training camp "Kibush" in Lithuania (most probably "Hachalutz" training group). [Lithuania, 1920s].
Group photos of the members: agricultural work, caring for animals and more. The group's members are seen in one of the photos facing a building with a sign on its door: "Pioneers Farm Kibush 1924-1928" (Hebrew). Some of the photos are titled on the reverse, one photo is dated: 1928.
10. Group photo of "Tarbut school pupils in Utena (Lithuania). On the reverse appears and ink stamp of a photographer of Utena – "I. Garshein" (Yiddish and Lithuanian).
11. Group photo of boys and girls, members of "Achva" group, first cooperative group of "Hechalutz" in Lithuania. Utena, 1928. Titled and dated.
12. Portrait of a girl. Dedicated on the reverse and dated: "Utena, 1922",
13-19. Seven photos of Eretz Israel, [late 1920s or 1930s]. Most photos portray workers paving a road.
Attached is a municipal-supervisor certificate in the name of Zussman Balbirer who appears in some of the photos (it is possible that the photos belonged to him).
18 photos: 14X9 cm. Divided on the reverse for use as a postcard. One photo: 9X7 cm. Inscriptions in pen on the verso of some of the photos. Condition varies. Spotting. Minor damages.
