A German edition of the book "Picturesque Palestine", first published in English in 1880, edited by Charles Wilson. A detailed guide to Eretz Israel, composed by several experts. Accompanied by numerous illustrations within the text portraying the views of Eretz Israel, inhabitants' garments, customs and more, as well as 50 plates of engravings, with three large maps, in color (maps of Jerusalem, Eretz Israel and Sinai and Egypt).
First volume: VIII, 520 pp +[22] plates. Second volume: VI, 474 pp +[18] plates. 38.5 cm. Original bindings with embossed decorations. Gilded leaf edges. Good condition. Spotting. Several detached leaves. Damages to bindings (mainly to spine).
