Machzor Ashkenazi – Venice, 1600

Machzor according to the Ashkenazi custom [in Italy], with Hadrat Kodesh commentary. The beginning of Part 1 and Part 2 for the Days of Awe are complete. Venice, [1599-1600]. John Bragdin printing press by Zuan Di Gara.
In this copy, the first part of Volume A [the title page and the introduction, everyday and Shabbat prayers, Yotzrot for Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh and Shabbat Bereshit], with most of Volume B [beginning with Leaf 7], including Selichot and prayers from the month of Elul until Simchat Torah.
The machzor leaves have many additions in ancient Ashkenazi handwriting, with additions and version corrections and customs. Signature on title page: "Moshe Wolf of Heidelheim" and another erased signature.
72 leaves [Part 1], 7-315 leaves [Part 2], 30 cm. Fair-good condition. Stains and moisture damages. Ownership inscriptions. Title page partially lacking and mounted on paper. Light-colored leather binding, worn.
