Four medals – Jewish-Austrian actor and director Adolf Sonnenthal (1834-1909). Late 19th – early 20th century.
1-2. Two identical bronze medals, noting 25 years of Sonnenthal's work at the Burgtheater (National Austrian Theater) in Vienna, 1881.
Obverse: Sonnenthal's portrait and inscription in German: "Adolf Sonnenthal K. K Hofschauspieler und Regisseur, 1856 1. Juni 1881" [Adolf Sonnenthal, actor and director, 1856, June 1, 1881]. Marked: J. Schwerdtner. Reverse: The old building of the Burgtheater and a dedication in German. Diameter: 58 mm.
3. A medal commemorating 25 years of Sonnenthal's work in the Burgtheater.
Obverse: Sonnethal's portrait. Marked: J. Schwerdtner. Reverse: Burgtheater building and a dedication in German. Diameter: 34 mm.
4. Medallion for Sonnenthal's 70th birthday, 1904. Diameter: 21 mm. Hook for hanging and a ribbon.
