Torah Ark Curtain for Rosh Hashanah and Yom HaKipurim – Europe, 1885

Torah Ark Curtain, Europe, 1885.
Blue fabric, gold thread embroidery, gemstones.
An embroidered "Torah Crown" appears on the upper part, set with gemstones. On the sides are two letter "K,T" for "Keter Torah". In the center of the curtain and at its edges are dedications. The curtain was created in memory of rabbi Ya'akov Felsenstein who passed away in 1885. An acrostic in the center opens with the letters of the name Noah Avraham. Embroidered around the frame:"…on the memorial day and in honor of Yom HaKipurim donated by his daughter Zila…"
84X57 cm, good condition, some of the embroidery is unraveled, sewn on fabric for conservation.
